This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to transport power generation plant and equipment.

Road transport is typically used to move light or heavy materials, equipment and power generation plant from one location to another, as required.

Competency in this unit requires the ability to plan and prepare for power generation plant and equipment for transportation, obtaining permits, loading and unloading power generation plant and equipment, securing load, operating transport vehicle and completing documentation. Individuals will, in general, work as an operator, in a power generation facility.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

The application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit may require a licence or training permit to practice in the workplace where work is carried out on gas and electrical installations, or driving transport vehicles.
